Francesca Lake's SS27 NEWGEN debut on the official London Fashion Week schedule
Francesca Lake's Wake the Town was her first outing on London Fashion Week's official schedule, an SS27 NEWGEN presentation backed by the British Fashion Council. Before fashion, she studied Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies in Kingston. Her practice runs past garments into installation, ceramics, film and prose, work she has described as sitting "where regality and vulgarity collide." NEWGEN's Pull&Bear-backed programme picked sixteen designers for 2026/27 in May. Lake was one of three new names in that round; the BFC's own framing of the shift is deepened investment at a pivotal growth stage, not just a showcase.
