Johanna Parv SS27, TEMPO at 180 Studios: an exhibition of four other practitioners instead of a runway
Johanna Parv's SS27 outing is an exhibition called TEMPO at 180 Studios, and the films inside it are not about her. Alexandre Silberstein directed four moving portraits, city scenes cut with interviews by Georgia Graham, asking a designer, a chef, a ceramicist and an architect how speed sharpens their thinking. Sasa Stucin, one half of the design duo Soft Baroque, compares making to driving at high speed, the body on autopilot. Imogen Kwok, on food: "made to be destroyed". Nara Lee, asked whether her work is timely or timeless, says timeless is a call made from afar, so she works on the zeitgeist and stays honest.
The house's own notes put the logic plainly: the practice is "about doing, not dreaming", and ideas come from moving at pace rather than sitting around thinking.
Parv is Estonian-born and London-based: Central Saint Martins MA 2020, three seasons with Fashion East from 2022, an LVMH Prize semi-finalist in 2023, and a NEWGEN recipient for 2026/27, the British Fashion Council scheme now partnered with Pull&Bear. Her last two collections were runway shows. This one hangs still while the films move.
