Richard Quinn's SS27 show at London Fashion Week: a mirrored, chandelier-hung room built like a private client fitting, crystal-embroidered gowns in tulle, velvet and silk

Richard Quinn's SS27 show doubled as a shop opening. The house has grown on private clients and made-to-order gowns, and the set was modelled on the fitting those clients get. In an interview published five days before the show, Quinn said richardquinn.com would take online orders for the first time, with ready-to-wear, bridal and bespoke services in one place, "making the brand accessible worldwide". He also said the print, the cut and the embroidery are all done in the same building, and that he thinks of the pieces as "future heirlooms". Over the summer the house sold strictly by appointment, from a private suite at Selfridges in London. The website needs no appointment. Queen Elizabeth II sat front row at his show in 2018 and handed him the first award for British design given in her name.

The post, as it ran

02QUINN IS THE LONDON DESIGNER KNOWN FOR FLORAL PRINT AND EVENING GOWNS. THE SHOW WALKED AT LONDON FASHION WEEK ON 19 SEPTEMBER 2026.
03THE ROOM HAD MIRRORED WALLS, DEEP CARPET AND CRYSTAL CHANDELIERS. IT WAS BUILT TO FEEL LIKE A PRIVATE CLIENT'S FITTING AT HIS ATELIER.
04HIS SHOW NOTES GAVE THE THEME AS THE RITUAL OF DRESSING, AND THE DRAMA OF GETTING READY.
05THE GOWNS CAME IN TULLE, VELVET AND SILK. SOME FELL LONG AND DRAPED. OTHERS SWELLED OVER LAYERS OF FLOUNCES AND CRINOLINE.
06EMBROIDERY COVERED THEM: GEOMETRIC GRIDS OF BEADS AND CRYSTALS, GATHERED INTO SMALL FLOWERS THAT CAUGHT THE CHANDELIER LIGHT.
07THE COLOURS WERE PASTEL PINK, BUTTER YELLOW AND LILAC, BROKEN UP BY WHITE AND A DEEP, THEATRICAL BLACK.
08ONE BALLGOWN SET A LONG BLACK VELVET BODICE OVER A PUFFED WHITE SKIRT. ANOTHER WAS TIERED, BELL-SHAPED AND PRINTED WITH LILAC FLOWERS.
09THE STYLING KEPT AN EDGE: LONG BLACK OPERA GLOVES, BIG WHITE SILK ROSETTES AT THE NECK, AND BLACK LATEX SHINING ON THE LEGS.
10THE SHAPES LOOKED BACK TO THE 1980S. THE NEW PART IS THE SHOP, WHICH ALSO CARRIES QUINN'S BRIDAL AND BESPOKE SERVICES.
