Courrèges SS27: Drew Henry's first collection, 50 looks at the Palais de Tokyo

Drew Henry's first Courrèges collection ran at 10:30 on 30 September in a wing of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris: 50 looks, a few months after the house named him artistic director on 31 March to succeed Nicolas Di Felice. Henry, born in South Africa and a graduate of the Central Saint Martins MA, spent his career under three designers: Phoebe Philo at Celine and at her own label, Jonathan Anderson, and Daniel Lee at Burberry, where he was senior design director. The hats are the detail: Henry found a cloche by the milliner Jean Barthet in the Courrèges archive and had it remade, scrunched, for the runway. Alongside it came floral bra tops and the A-line dress with its edges left frayed, and the flat Space Age boots of 1964 went back on the floor.
