Rick Owens SS27 at the Palais de Tokyo: a dress from a painting in the Basilica of Saint Clotilde, the ramp over the pool, double duchesse, sulfur-dyed denim, crystal-wrapped feet
Rick Owens has said he goes to the Basilica of Saint Clotilde almost twice a week, for the building rather than the religion, and one of the old, dark paintings inside gave him a dress. The stone-coloured columns made him think of "stoicism — that kind of dignity that I'm always thinking about."
One slim gown in black tulle with a spiky, grid-like surface he called "brutalist lace". He tried the tulle cages on himself, and said sitting down was no problem.
