Margiela's Tabi boot: first shown in 1988, from the 15th-century Japanese split-toe sock; soles dipped in red paint for footprints on the white runway; 'the audience should notice the new footwear'; the runway turned into a waistcoat

Maison Margiela's spring 2027 show, Glenn Martens's, walked on 29 September in Paris. The Tabi is the house's first shoe design, and the waistcoat made from that first painted runway was held together with brown tape.
