Yves Saint Laurent's 1991 all-gold Rive Gauche finale, and the show Vaccarello ran in reverse on 29 September 2026
Yves Saint Laurent's autumn 1991 Rive Gauche show, his ready-to-wear line rather than couture, ended with a finale in which every model wore gold. He called gold the black of its day and said an evening should glow or it was a bit absurd.
On 29 September 2026 Anthony Vaccarello (@anthonyvaccarello) reversed the sequence at the Trocadéro: gold from the first look, a finale all in black, ten years after his own first show for the house and amid unconfirmed reports that it was his last.
