The moon landing became a ski boot. Watching Apollo 11 in 1969, Giancarlo Zanatta of Tecnica saw the astronauts' bulbous boots and made a version for the slopes, on sale by the early 1970s.
No left or right, just foam and zip. The Moon Boot has been ugly-chic ever since. Un piccolo passo.
