The Levi's 501 rivet is patented engineering

Your jeans have a patent number. In 1873, Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss patented the copper rivet, the little metal stud that stops work-trouser pockets tearing. US patent 139,121. Davis had the idea, Strauss had the money to file it. The 501 has worn that engineering ever since. Workwear, patented.
