Louis Vuitton Horizon Aluminium suitcase — Monogram embossed into shell for structural rigidity
Ten years after the original Horizon launched, Louis Vuitton and Marc Newson — most recently behind Ferrari's Luce — return with the house's first aluminium suitcase, a material Newson has worked with since the LC1 lounge chair in 1984 and one Louis Vuitton itself used for expedition trunks in the late 19th century. The Horizon Aluminium is constructed from stamped and laser-cut aluminium: single-piece full-depth shell, no rivets, external hinges absorbed into the body — and the Monogram embossed directly into the surface to eliminate the need for the reinforcing grooves typically found on hard-shell luggage. A collaboration that has also produced a limited-edition biomorphic backpack, sculptural fragrance bottles, and the 2023 Cabinet of Curiosities trunk. The Horizon 55 opens at £3,500; the Vanity Case at £2,580 — available globally 12 June.
