Valentino red: a teenage Valentino Garavani sees a woman in red velvet at Carmen in Barcelona; Fiesta, 1959, strapless draped tulle; a red dress in every collection; its own Pantone

Valentino's spring 2027 collection, by Alessandro Michele, walked on Sunday 4 October in the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève in Paris. His business partner Giancarlo Giammetti put the red down to superstition: he did it once, and after that there was red in every collection. (@maisonvalentino)
