The Lady Dior was 'the favourite' before it carried Diana's name

The bag was called 'the favourite' before it was called Lady Dior. Gianfranco Ferre designed it in 1994 as the Chouchou. In 1995, the French president's wife, Bernadette Chirac, gave one to Diana, Princess of Wales, who then carried it everywhere. Dior renamed it the Lady Dior in 1996, in her honour. The name followed the woman, not the other way round.
